Shooting in Delhi building
creates scare
With
police and other security agencies on high alert following the
twin blasts in Mumbai, a sensation was created in Delhi on Wednesday
when a man opened fire in an office in the World Trade Centre
tower.
The
man, who was wearing a mask, fired two rounds in the office of
Swiss International Airlines in the building at Connaught Place
before fleeing with Rs 10,000 and a mobile phone.
Fearing
a terrorist attack, policemen rushed to the multi-storeyed building
after the Police Control Room flashed a message about the shooting
at around 1655 IST.
The
assailant apparently used a .765 MM Chinese pistol, Joint Commissioner
of Police (New Delhi Range) Maxwell Pereira said.
