The Capital today experienced the hottest day in four years with
the mercury touching a high of 46 degree Celsius. Today’s
temperature of 46 degree Celsius is five degrees above normal
and the highest since 1998 when the mercury touched 47.1degrees.

The BJP’s uneasiness with the Chautala government in Haryana

Policemen foil prisoner’s suicide bid

Harish, an undertrial prisoner of Hari Nagar, reportedly made
an attempt to commit suicide in the police custody at Ganaur town,
16 km from here, on Friday. According to a report, the prisoner

New Delhi, May 18
Thirty-three cases involving petty offenders, who have been languishing
in the jail, were disposed of by a special court in the Tihar
Court complex today. The court was presided over by City Metropolitan

Cholera cases increasing in the Capital
The number of cholera cases in the Capital is on the rise, according
to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) here.
Dr Sunil Gupta, Head of the Microbiology division of NICD says
that 240 cases of cholera have been reported this year alone between
January and mid-May.
